(Standard 1a) As children mature, their development changes. Summarize what you noticed about these changes below. Be sure to fully address each domain looking at the description for what each domain includes. Please address all two age groups with at least two developmental changes/differences you noticed for each domain. used in the two virtual observations. List the specific milestone that you observed and the age of the checklist that the milestone was taken from. Then describe at least one possible influence for each category of influences. Be sure to include both influences that would have a positive effect and those that would have a negative effect. Category of Influence Milestone you choose Age of Checklist Description of possible influence Diverse cultural and linguistic contexts for development Children’s close relationships with adults and peers Economic conditions of children and families Health status and disabilities Children’s individual developmental variations and learning styles Opportunities to play and learn Technology and the media Family and community characteristics Step Four: Evaluate and reflect on your work Evaluate your own work using the grading rubric on the following page. (not a NAEYC Standard) observations with specific details and examples. but with minimal details and examples examples. Step Two: Summarizing Development in all Domains (Standard 1a) All three domain summaries of the developmental changes accurately address age groups and provide at least two specific changes that are thoroughly explained. All three domain summaries of developmental changes accurately addresses age groups and provide two general changes that could be more thoroughly addressed. All three domains of developmental changes are addressed and one change was accurately described and second change was incomplete, missing, or inaccurate. Summaries are incomplete or more than minor inaccuracies. Missing Step Three: Analyzing Influences on Development (Standard 1b) Each category of influence has accurate milestone and checklist age provided. The possible influence clearly relates to the milestone chosen and is accurate and well elaborated. Balance of positive and negative influences are provided. Each category of influence has accurate milestone and checklist age provided. The possible influence relates to the milestone chosen but could have been more fully elaborated. Both positive and negative influences are provided. Each category has milestone and checklist age provide and possible influence may have minor inaccuracies. Or many influences are stated too generally (not well elaborated). Some positive and negative influences are provided. Incomplete, many inaccuracies, and/or only identified positive or negative influences. Missing Step Four: Evaluate and Reflect (not a NAEYC Standard) Completed rubric and provide self-feedback based on scores that addresses strengths and areas for growth Completed rubric and provides general feedback to self (doesn’t address strengths and areas for growth) Completed rubric, but missing feedback Missing ratings for some criteria and feedback Missing Formatting, Spelling, & Grammar (not a NAEYC Standard) Typed responses into the correct parts of the form. Used complete sentences with no noticeable spelling and grammar errors. Typed responses into the correct part of the form. Used complete sentences with some minor (less than 3) spelling and grammar errors Input the information into the form correctly. Some incomplete sentences and some noticeable spelling and grammar errors (3 or more), but content is still clear. Did not use the form. Incomplete sentences used throughout. Spelling and grammar errors cause issues with clarity. Missing Reflection: How did this assignment go for you? Use how you scored yourself in the rubric and be sure to answer all of the questions to completely address each prompt in the boxes below.
My strengths in this assignment (What was easy for you? What made the most sense to you?) Areas I would like to grow in related to this assignment (What was more challenging? If you were to do the assignment over what would you want to get better at?)
