3 Two Week Overview Week One Monday Whole Group Instruction - On Summarizing & Sequencing Learning Objective: Identify the main idea, analyze the main details, and develop a summary of the story while establishing the correct order of events. The instructor will orally deliver the narrative to the students and conduct a thorough analysis of the text to identify its principal elements. The students will be expected to follow the narrative by viewing the projected text on the board via a document camera. Throughout the reading, the instructor will exemplify the process of identifying main concepts by pausing to illustrate specific details. Upon completion of the narrative, the instructor will demonstrate the organization of the events in the correct sequence and subsequently model the composition of a summary based on the sequential arrangement of events. Tuesday Guided Reading: Students will receive reading passages or short stories that align with their individual reading levels. Each student will be paired with another student of comparable reading proficiency. They will take turns reading the passage and collaboratively identify the main details. Subsequently, they will jointly craft a paragraph summarizing the passage they have read. Wednesday Intervention Groups 2 & 3 On Monday, the teacher will revisit the story she read and distribute index cards to the group. The teacher should prepare the index cards in advance. Each student will write a detail from the story on their index card. As a group, the students will then collaborate to arrange the index cards in the correct order of events from the story. Finally, they will review the index cards to ensure they provide a summary of the story in the correct sequence (Wee, 2022). Thursday Intervention Group 1 & 4 The students will receive reading passages tailored to their individual reading levels. Upon completing the reading, they will be required to orally retell the story to the group. Following this, each student will select a character from the story and articulate any personal connections or similarities they may have with the chosen character. Friday Progress Monitoring

4 Students will listen to the reading passage from the teacher. Students will be given sentences on index cards (need to be prepped before the assessment). Then the students will need to put the sentences in the correct order of events from the story. Students will then share their sentences with each other in their small group setting and summarize their part of the story. Week Two Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
