Chapter SM, Problem 30PQ
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
Pressure of gas trapped in an open-ended mercury manometer has to be determined.
Concept Introduction:
Manometers are types of equipment that are used to measure pressure of gas. These work on principle of hydrostatic equilibrium and are useful in pressure measurements for liquids or gases. In case of open-ended manometer, one end of tube is filled with gas while its other end is left open. Generally, mercury is used in manometers.
