Rodent roundup. Your psychology class is planning a study involving mice and rats. There are two experiments in the study. For the first experiment, each mouse will complete 2 trials and each rat will complete 3 trials. For the second experiment, each mouse will complete 3 trials and each rat will complete 5 trials. The goal is to do 90 trials for the first experiment and 145 trials for the second. Let x equal the number of mice you need and y equal the number of rats you need. Create an equation for each of the two experim ents that relates x and y to the total number of desired trials. Then solve these two equations for x and y to determine the number of mice and rats you need for your study.
