Introduction:

In the process of photosynthesis, the plant utilizes solar energy to oxidize water and release oxygen. Furthermore, reduction of carbondioxide forms large carbon compounds mainly sugars. In higher plants, the most active site for photosynthesis is the mesophyll of the leaves. Mesophyll cells have numerous chloroplasts, which comprise a specialized light absorbing pigment.
