Concept introduction:

The temperature at which the solid phase changes to liquid issaid to be itsmelting point. The melting point depends on pressure.When internal energy of the solid increases, the melting occurs. This is due to the application of heat or pressure, due to which the temperature of the substance increases to its melting point.
