Summary Introduction

Introduction: Eyes are the organs of the visual system. It will detect the light and convert it into electro-chemical impulses present in the neurons. Retina is the innermost thin layer of tissues that are located near the optic nerve. A typical retina of a mammal contains two types of photoreceptors: rods and cones. The rods are present in larger number than cones. The cones of the retina mediate color vision, while the rods mediate vision during night.
