Introduction:

The two divisions of the autonomic nervous system are associated with the regulation of the visceral organs. Many visceral organs receive dual innervation, that is, they are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers. Thus, their effect may be complementary, cooperative, or antagonistic.
