Summary Introduction
Anemia is characterized by a decrease in erythrocytes cell count and cell mass due to a reduction in the hemoglobin (Hb) concentration. According to WHO, individuals with Hb concentration less than 13 g/dl are considered anemic. Bone marrow is a soft tissue found inside bones that harbor hematopoietic stem cells. In the case of bone marrow failure, the production of hematopoietic stem cells is reduced.
