Introduction:

Joints are also called as articulations which connect bones and helps in movement. Joints can be classified either structurally or functionally. The structural classification of joints involves the presence or absence of structures like connective tissue or cartilage within a joint cavity. The functional classification involves movement between the bones. Joints are categorized based on their functions into four types, synostosis, synarthrosis, amphiarthrosis, and diarthrosis.
