Introduction:
A ligament is a tough, dense band of fibrous tissue made of collagen which helps to support the bones and other tissues such as muscles, and tendons. The periodontal ligament is a special connective tissue that attaches a tooth to the alveolar bone. The function of a ligament is to support, sensory transmission, and maintains nutrients of the surrounding cells.
