Some examples of addition reactions of alkenes are acid-catalyzed hydration, hydroboration-oxidation, oxymercuration-demercuration, etc.

Hydroboration-oxidation is a hydration reaction of alkene. It follows the Anti-Markovnikov addition of $\text{H}$ and $\text{-OH}$ group in the presence of ${\text{BH}}_{\text{3}}{\text{,THF / H}}_{\text{2}}{\text{O}}_{\text{2}}\text{, NaOH}$ .
