Summary Introduction

Introduction

Happiness is universal. Along with sadness, it is found in every culture around the world. What makes people happy, though, and the ways they express it, are different everywhere. Research suggests that peoples' happiness (or lack of it) tends to remain relatively stable throughout their lifetimes. Specific circumstances may cause a short-term disruption, but it is very unlikely that an unhappy person who becomes wealthy will then become happy.
