Introduction:

The vertebral column is a cavity that encloses and protects the spinal cord. Each vertebrae are named according to their region and position. From top to bottom, the vertebrae are cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, sacrum, and coccyx. Thoracic vertebrae compose the middle segment of the spine between the cervical vertebrae and lumbar vertebrae. There are twelve thoracic vertebrae in human and are intermediate in size between the cervical and lumbar vertebrae.
