Summary Introduction

To write:

The comparison characters between incomplete dominance and co-dominance.

Introduction:

The allele is the form of a single gene present in an organism. The different combination of the alleles determines the genotype and phenotype of the organism. The allele can be of two types dominant or recessive. The dominant allele has a property to mask the effect of the recessive allele in heterozygote condition.

Explanation of Solution

The incomplete dominance is a condition, in which an allele is not able to masks the effect of the recessive allele and the co dominance is a condition, in which 2 alleles are equally dominant resulting in expression of both traits.

The comparison between incomplete dominance and co dominance is given below:

    Incomplete dominanceCo dominance.
Incomplete dominance is a heterozygous condition in which neither allele in pair shows complete dominance over the other. Neither of the allele in the pair is dominant and rather combines to display an intermediate trait by mixing of the two traits. For Example:

This can be observed in the flower color of the snapdragon plants.

The color of the flower is determined by two types of alleles: R and r.

R is the dominant allele and codes for red flowers. The r is the recessive allele and codes for the white flowers.

Co dominance is a condition, in which two alleles are equally dominant. In this condition, the resultant phenotype is the cumulative expression of both the alleles.

    For Example:

This can be observed in the ABO blood grouping of the humans.

There are three allele, which exist in humans and determine the blood group, these are Ia, I b and i. The allele Ia, I b are dominant and code for A and B phenotype respectively and the allele i code for blood group O and it is recessive.

In the presence of Ia, Ib, the resulatant phenotype is AB.

Conclusion

The incomplete dominance is a condition, in which an allele is not able to masks the effect of the recessive allele and the co dominance is a condition, in which 2 alleles are equally dominant resulting in expression of both traits.

If someone was working with a 50 MBq F-18 source, what would be the internal and external dose consequences?
We will be starting a group project next week where you and your group will research and ultimately present on a current research article related to the biology of a pathogen that infects humans. The article could be about the pathogen itself, the disease process related to the pathogen, the immune response to the pathogen, vaccines or treatments that affect the pathogen, or other biology-related study about the pathogen. I recommend that you choose a pathogen that is currently interesting to researchers, so that you will be able to find plenty of articles about it. Avoid choosing a historical disease that no longer circulates. List 3 possible pathogens or diseases that you might want to do for your group project.
