In this case study author raises the question of making it mandatory for the employees to socialize outside office hours. It has its own pros and cons. There is cultural diversity. In a particular group, the urge is strong, so they may use office time and resources for socialization. Employees should be given the option to socialize. Though some companies like Zappos had made it mandatory outside office socialization, this should not be made mandatory. These companies were small startups with about 1000 employees and were later acquired by other giants.
