Bones comprise a skeletal system of the body. The skeletal system is divided into an axial and appendicular skeleton. Axial skeleton forms the central axis of the body and consists of the skull, rib cage (thoracic cage), and vertebral column. Appendicular skeleton consists of upper and lower limbs along with pectoral and pelvic girdles.
