Concept introduction: The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) enzymatically enlarges the single stranded DNA molecules over a particular portion by a set of primers. While the cycles go on, the number of templates doubles after each cycle. In PCR technique, the use of DNA polymerase, Taq polymerase, and DNA primers made particularly for the DNA at its desired portion. The reaction of amplification in PCR is repeatedly cycled so that many copies of target region of DNA will be produced.
