Program Plan Intro
Array:
An array is defined as a group that consists of similar data types, but the size of array can also declared which indicates that the number of values an array can hold and it is always indexed, starting from 0.
Reference type:
Reference type works different from value type. It is not directly stores its value instead it stores the memory address where the value is being stored. There are two things for reference type. They are,
- • An object that is generated in memory location.
- • A variable that references the object.
The syntax for instantiation of object is as follows:
They need two steps to create a reference type object. They are,
- • First need to declare the reference variable.
- • Second need to create an object and relate it with the reference variable.

In this project you will generate a poker hand containing five cards randomly selected from a deck of cards. The names of the cards are stored in a text string will be converted into an array. The array will be randomly sorted to "shuffle" the deck. Each time the user clicks a Deal button, the last five cards of the array will be removed, reducing the size of the deck size. When the size of the deck drops to zero, a new randomly sorted deck will be generated. A preview of the completed project with a randomly generated hand is shown in Figure 7-50.

- This program will be a Doggy Day Care. The menu should be Check in Dog Check Out Dog Exit If the user selects option 1 (Check in Dog), the program will take in all of the information for the dog and create a dog object (which will be stored in the array). All relevant input validation should be done for the information entered. Once the dog object is created, the program should tell the user how much it will be for the dog for the day. The Doggy Daycare can only contain up to 30 dogs. Before a new dog object is created, the program should check that the number of current dog objects is less than 30 (Hint: using the static field). If there are already 30 dogs, then if the user selects option 1, it should say “Sorry, the Doggy Day Care is at capacity”. If the user selects option 2, it will ask for the owner’s name. It will search the array for that name and return the names of the dogs that the owner has checked in. This will check out those dogs (i.e. remove them from the array).
