The function of an epiphyseal plate.
Introduction:
Epiphyseal plate is a group of the cartilage present between the primary and secondary ossification centers. The epiphyseal plate is responsible for the growth of the length of a bone. This plate has new cells that grow continuously through the process of mitosis. New cells are formed. Once these cells get deposited on the epiphyseal plate, it helps in increasing the length of the bone.
