- The process when the infrared radiation emitted from the surface of earth absorbed by the gases and then radiating back to the surface making the surface of the earth warmer is known as greenhouse effect. The gases that help to increase the warmth of the atmospheric surface are called greenhouse gases.
- If a molecule tends to get instantaneous dipole due to the uneven distribution of electron density give rise to temporary dipole atom and it is known as London dispersion forces.
- Permanent dipole moment takes place due to the difference in electronegativity of atoms in a polar molecule.
