Concept introduction:
- When light hits on metal surface, the electrons get ejected only if the light frequency greater than threshold value of the metal which is constant for each metal is called
photoelectric effect . - When the photon with same or greater frequency than minimum value, then ejection of one electron occurs from surface of metal. This leads to photoelectric effect.
- In photoelectric effect, a photon having least energy and can eject electron from metal surface. This energy is called photoelectric work function
