Interpretation: The equation for the reaction of 1 mol of phosphoric acid with 1 mol of aluminum hydroxide should be written.

Concept introduction: When an acid and base reacts with each other, salt and water are formed. This is known as neutralization reaction. An acid is a substance that donates hydrogen ion H+ in the aqueous solution resulting formation of conjugate base and a base is substance that donates OH- ion in the aqueous solution resulting formation of conjugate acid.

The H+ ion from acid and OH- ion from base react to form water. Also, the conjugate acid and base form salt.
