RAID:

- It is a storage system that helps to improve consistency and performance by giving a number of independent small disks rather than giving large and expensive disks.
Levels of RAID:
RAID contains different levels. They are as follows:
RAID-0:
- It is called as drive spanning that is, it places information in stripes across numerous disks.
- It does not offer redundancy.
- It is cheaper.
RAID-1:
- This is called as mirroring that is, it writes two copies of information onto one pair of independent disks.
- It suits for transaction based environments.
- It is costly.
RAID-10: It is the combination of RAID-1 and RAID-0.
RAID-2:
- The system that contains set of data and hamming drives. Hamming drives contains the error recovery data for the data drives.
- It is very slow.
RAID-3:
- The system stripes information one bit at a time across all the data drives and it uses one drive in order to hold a simple parity bit...
