Explanation of Solution

The three key elements of motivation are Intensity, Direction, and Persistence. All of these elements should come together if the effort that a person makes, to achieve a goal should be successful.

Firstly Intensity is the amount of effort put in by the person. How hard is he/she working towards making his goal/s achievable? It can also be said to be the hard work a person does for the said purpose.

The second element of motivation is Direction. As we all know if there is no particular path that we follow there is no use in any hard work done since there is no idea as to where this would end. Hence intensity should be combined with a direction that would benefit the organization or person ultimately. This sort of ‘effort’ is what an organization looks for when motivating its employees.

Thirdly it is the Persistence of the effort put into achieving a particular goal that makes it complete. It is how long someone can maintain the hard work done in a particular direction towards achieving the goal. If there is no patience and determination it would be difficult for anyone to see great results since it all takes time and constant determination.
