Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The process of fermentation begins with the same set of glycolysis reactions in the cytoplasm. After glycolysis, the fermentation takes place in the cytoplasm when the oxygen molecules are not present. In these reactions, the pyruvate is converted to other molecules, but it is not completely broken down to CO₂. There are many types of fermentation such as-alcoholic, lactate, propionic acid, butyric acid, and mixed acid fermentation.
