Program Plan Intro

Reverse the file content

Program plan:

  • Include the required header files in the program
  • Define the “Reverse” class
    • Define the “readLinesToArray” method
      • Declare “lineList” as an “ArrayList” variable
      • In “try” block, declare an object for “Scanner” class and pass the filename as an argument.
        • Add the each lines to the “lineList” variable using “while” condition
      • The “catch” block throws an error message if the file is not found.
      • Return the value.
    • Define “reverse” method
      • Declare the string variable “reversed”
      • Iterate “i” until it reaches length of the “line” variable
        • Reverse each character in the file and store the reversed characters in “reversed” variable.
      • Return the “reversed” variable
    • Define “reverseAll” method
      • Iterate “i” until it reaches length of the “lineOfLines” variable
        • Call the “reverse” method and reverse each lines in the file
    • Define the “writeAll” method
      • In “try” block, declare an object for “PrintWriter” class and pass the filename as an argument.
      • Write all the lines in the file
      • The “catch” block throws an error message if the file is not found.
    • Define the main method
      • Check the “args” length is less than 1
      • If the condition is true, then display error message
      • Otherwise, create an object of “readLinesToArray” method
        • Call the “reverseAll” method with an argument
        • Call the “writeAll” with the arguments
        • Display the successive message.

Scenario You work for a small company that exports artisan chocolate. Although you measure your products in kilograms, you often get orders in both pounds and ounces. You have decided that rather than have to look up conversions all the time, you could use Python code to take inputs to make conversions between the different units of measurement. You will write three blocks of code. The first will convert kilograms to pounds and ounces. The second will convert pounds to kilograms and ounces. The third will convert ounces to kilograms and pounds. The conversions are as follows: 1 kilogram = 35.274 ounces 1 kilogram = 2.20462 pounds 1 pound = 0.453592 kilograms 1 pound = 16 ounces 1 ounce = 0.0283 kilograms 1 ounce = 0.0625 pounds For the purposes of this activity the template for a function has been provided. You have not yet covered functions in the course, but they are a way of reusing code. Like a Python script, a function can have zero or more parameters. In the code window you…
