Concept Introduction:
The size of an isoelectronic ion depends on the number of protons present inside the nucleus. For an isoelectronic series, ions have the same number of electrons but different number of protons. In a pair of isoelectronic ions, the ion having more number of protons will have a smaller size than the ion having less number of protons.
As the number of protons is more, the electrons will have more force of attraction and hence, size is reduced.
