A modern house or building in Venezuela is like any modern house that we see in the United States. It has a kitchen with all the utilities and services. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, blender, stove, and it will have a nice dining room. The modern house or apartment might be in a tall building or away from downtown. There is nothing new to a modern house in Venezuela to be alarmed or excited about as it is like a house that we know. On the other hand, the most interesting type of house in Venezuela is The Shabono. The Shabano is a house that is build by the Yanomami tribe that lives in the Amazon Rainforest. Life here is very different as most of us are used to. First of all, The Shabono is house to at least 70 people. Each family lives in a small area build by them and assigned to them by the whole community. A Shabono house is usually circular and the area in the middle doesn’t have a roof and it is a common area which they use to celebrate family meetings or ceremonies. Each family cook their food in their assigned area and they store their food on racks and shelves.
