Expert Solution & Answer

Answer to Problem 20CE

Right angle is the largest angle and the hypotenuse is the longest side.

Explanation of Solution

Given:

A right triangle is given.

Calculation:

Since, in triangle sum of three angles is 180 degrees and the right angle is 90 degrees, so sum of remaining two angles will be 90 degrees. Therefore, the largest angle is the right angle which is 90 degrees.

Longest side is the hypotenuse because hypotenuse is equal to the under root of sum of squares of remaining two sides.

Therefore, right angle is the largest angle and the hypotenuse is the longest side.
