Chapter 6.1, Problem 63E
The temperature and the wind combine to cause body surfaces to lose heat. Meteorologists call this effect “the windchill factor.” For example, if the actual temperature outside is 10°F and the wind speed is 20 miles per hour, it will feel like it is −20°F outside, so −20°F is called the windchill. When it is 25°F outside and the wind speed is 40 miles per hour, it will feel like it is −35°F outside. From the information given, write a linear equation for determining the windchill using the actual temperature and the wind speed. Then use your equation to find the windchill factor on a day with temperature 30° and 18 mile per hour winds.

- Benoît Clapeyron combined Boyle's Gas Law with several other gas laws to create the Ideal Gas Law. The Ideal Gas Law states that the volume (V) of a gas varies directly with its temperature (T) and inversely with its Pressure (P). 500 ml of hydrogen gas is at 50 degrees Celsius and under 75 Pascals of pressure. What will the volume of the gas be when the temperature is 100 degrees Celsius and the pressure is 30 Pascals? answer choices 2500 ml 25,000 ml 250 ml 100 mlarrow_forward4. %3D х+2 х-5 :- 3.arrow_forwardAccording to the table above please answer d and e as well.arrow_forward

The prices of diamonds go up as the carat weight increases, but the increase is not smooth. For example, the difference between the size of a 0.99-carat diamond and a 1-carat diamond is undetectable to the naked human eye, but the price of a 1-carat diamond tends to be much higher than the price of a 0.99 diamond. In this question, we use two random samples of diamonds, 0.99 carats and 1 carat, each sample of size 23, and compare the average prices of the diamonds. In order to be able to compare equivalent units, we first divide the price for each diamond by 100 times its weight in carats. That is, for a 0.99-carat diamond, we divide the price by 99. For a 1 carat diamond, we divide the price by 100. The distributions and some sample statistics are shown below I have attached the questions and the chart in the images section. Furthermore, we know the temperature of a healthy person to be around 37 °C. Lastly, the room, where the body has been found is kept at a constant temperature of 20 °C.Find the hour of the crime with the given information.arrow_forward
