The upper part of the sternum is called manubrium. It is quadrangular shape structure, with a narrow top. Manubrium contains a suprasternal notch at the middle. Each side of the notch is called right and left clavicular notch, respectively. It connects with the clavicles of the appendicular skeleton and the costal ridges of the first pair of ribs.
