Commonly, the chemical compounds are made up of polyatomic ions and the ratio of positive to negative ions present in the substance is expressed as formula of ionic compound. Usually, the number of each kind of atom which makes up the particle generally called as the composition, is denoted by the chemical formula. The elements are found as single atom particles in the universe. Few elements form monoatomic ions having different charges. To differentiate the two ions, size of the charge of ions is included when naming the ion. Conversely, for group 1A, 2A, 5A-7A elements the charge is not included while naming the ion. In common, the charge is given in the name of an ion only when the ions of an element display more than one charge which is common
