Interpretation: The relative rate of effusion of carbon dioxide and propane
Concept introduction: Effusion happens when there is a presence of one or more than one small holes that stops the gas molecules to expand into the new chamber.
The Graham’s law of effusion states that, “the rate of effusion of gaseous molecules is inversely proportional to the square root of its molar mass of the gas molecules”.
To determine: The possibility of an error in calculation of the relative rate of effusion of carbon dioxide and propane by the student.
