Introduction: The skeletal system is composed of three types of bone cells, namely osteoblasts, osteoclasts, and osteocytes. Osteoblasts are involved in the production of new bone and the process is called ossification, where the matrix is converted into bone. Osteoclasts perform the function of demineralization and osteocytes are the mature bone cells.
