Schedule development tools and concepts:

Gantt Charts:

• A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart that is used for projects in which activities are plotted against the time schedule, from start date to end date of the given activity.
• Terminal elements as well as summary elements comprise the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) of the project.
• Some Gantt charts can be used to represent the dependency relationships between activities.
• Gantt charts can be used to show current schedule status using percent-complete shadings and a vertical "TODAY" line.

Critical Path Method (CPM):

• Critical path is referred to as the longest path through the activity network, which enables completion of all project-related activities.
• Based on the logic of workflow, there may be more than one Critical Path.
• CPM is used in project management for identifying the activities of bottleneck and allocating resources accordingly.

PERT:

• PERT stands for Program Evaluation and Review Technique.
• A PERT chart is referred to as a project management tool that is used to schedule, organize, and coordinate tasks within a project.
