Concept introduction: Nuclear fusion is the reaction in which two or more nuclei come close to form different nuclei with subatomic particle (neutron or proton). In this process, the mass number of the element is increased by 1 while the atomic number is remains the same.
Reaction in which beta particle is emitted from the radioactive element raising the atomic number of the element by one is called beta decay. Beta decay decreases number of neutron and increases number of proton.
