The nursing student is facing an ethical dilemma and her lack of confidence preventing her to act as a patient advocate, while caring for 44-year-old patient Mrs. S who is recently undergone extensive surgery for uterine cancer. The nursing student finds that nor does the patient or her family get explanations about the treatment. The surgeon who is attending the patient does not address her fears and fails to comfort her distress and give answers to the family’s questions.
