There are other key factors that have to be in place in order to put the company on a path for success. These factors include effective planning and decision-making with a systematic approach that considers the available information, the goals and objectives of the organization, and the potential outcomes of different decisions.
One of the companies I admire the most today is Apple. I because of how it started and all the changes they had to go through to become the company they are today. - 20 years ago, I opened a coffee shop in a small town in New Jersey. My small business grew, and after 12 years, I have opened more than 7 coffee shops in different parts of the state. I decided to retire in Costa Rica and enjoy life with my family. My biggest mistake was leaving my best friend, the most trusted employee, in charge of my stores. He had been in the company since its foundation and always was diligent. However, soon after I left for Costa Rica, my friend started his own coffee shop business while still managing my shops. Two years later, after wondering why sales in my coffee shops had declined, I decided to come in person to find out why. To my surprise – and frankly to my sadness-, my friend had opened four coffee shops near (one of them in front of) my businesses. He claimed that he opened his stores near my stores to take care of my business and his business at the same time. However, he never mentioned to me that he had opened his own stores. A Christian entrepreneur should see opportunities where they can do good with the organization they have designed and use it for good.Doing all of this in a joyful and winsome way brings honor to the Lord (Hebrews 13:15-17). We are also called to be salt and light no matter what we are doing as believers. Therefore, when we run our organizations, we are to run them in a way that glorifies the Lord. We should be salt and light in all of our business interactions and how we operate our business (Matthew 5:13-16). How does doing good with yourorganization and being salt and light tie into our discussion related to providing quality service during those moments of truth with our clients? While some theories can stand the test of time, other theories may grow to be irrelevant and new theories will develop in their place. EXPLAIN.arrow_forward
- It’s a great feeling to be sought for your opinion and participation when your organization needs to make an important decision. But what happens when the organization’s managers don’t listen? Management consultant Liz Ryan perhaps put it best: “When you work for a company that is not interested in your opinion, you can tell. They make it obvious. Once you know in your gut that your boss is not interested in your opinion, what other choice do you have than to find another job?” Some suggest that these bosses perhaps should be let go. Given that bad members can lower employee satisfaction and engagement, supervisors who exercise this form of control often emphasize politics over productivity and abuse their power, while employees complain because of the lack of support they are getting. They are “thrown under the bus” and forced out of the loop, and communication is all one way. Giving employees a chance to voice their opinions as part of the process leads to improved justice…arrow_forwardIt’s a great feeling to be sought for your opinion and participation when your organization needs to make an important decision.
