Java How to Program, Early Objects (11th Edition) (Deitel: How to Program)
- Q3. (Dice Rolling) Write a program that simulates the rolling of two dice. The program should use rand to roll the first die and should use rand again to roll the second die. The sum of the two values should then be calculated. [Note: Each die can show an integer value from 1 to 6, so the sum of the two values will vary from 2 to 12, with 7 being the most frequent sum and 2 and 12 being the least frequent sums.] Figure 7.26 shows the 36 possible combinations of the two dice. Your program should roll the two dice 10,000 times. Use a one-dimensional array to tally the numbers of times each possible sum appears. Print the results in a tabular format. Also, determine if the totals are reasonable (i.e., there are six ways to roll a 7, so approximately one-sixth of all the rolls should be 7). 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 4 6 7 3 4 6 7 3 4 5 7 8 9 4 7 8 9 10 7 8 10 11 7 10 11 12 Row\Col 3.arrow_forwardProblem D: Different Dice Game Consider the following game for two players: The first player rolls a pair of dice of fair six-sided dice. If the two dice show different numbers, the player's score is the larger of the two numbers. Otherwise, the player's score is the sum of the two numbers. At this point, the player is asked if they want to remove their lower die and re-roll one die. If they say no, the player keeps her score and their turn is over. If they say yes, then they roll one more die and the number showing on this die replaces the lower of the original two rolls. Then these two dice rolls are scored accordingly. (For example, if the initial roll was a 2 and 5, if the player doesn't roll again, she gets 5 points. If she does roll again and obtains a 4, her score is still 5. If she rolled again and obtained a 6, her score would be a 6. If she rollwed again and obtained a 5, her score would be a 10.) The second player goes after the first, doing the exact same steps as the first…arrow_forwardBackground: Game Rules The rules to the (dice) game of Pig: You will need 2 dice. To Play: a. The players each take turns rolling two die. b. A player scores the sum of the two dice thrown (unless the roll contains a 1): If a single number 1 is thrown on either die, the score for that whole turn is lost (referred to as “Pigged Out”). A 1 on both dice is scored as 25. c. During a single turn, a player may roll the dice as many times as they desire. The score for a single turn is the sum of the individual scores for each dice roll. d. The first player to reach the goal score wins unless a player scores higher subsequently in the same round. Therefore, everyone in the game must have the same number of turns. Execution and User Input This program is quite interactive with the user(s) and will take in the following information; please review the sample input / output sessions for details; we describe them again here emphasizing input. The program will prompt for the number of…arrow_forward
- -Write a program that asks the user to enter a person's age. The Problem 2: Age Classifier program should display a message indicating whether the person is an infant, a child, a teenager, or an adult. These are the guidelines: If the person is 1 year or less, he or she is an infant If the person is older than 1 year, but younger than 13 years, he or she is a child. If the person is at least 13 years old, but less than 20 years old, he or she is a teenager. If the person is at least 20 years old, he or she is an adult.arrow_forwardThe following statement should determine if x is not greater than 20. - Change Return Program: (Can you create flowchart for the following) The user enters a cost and then the amount of money given. The program will figure out the change and the number of twenty-dollar bills, ten-dollar bills, five-dollar bills, single-dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies needed for the change. You must have the maximum amount of higher denominations possible before allowing for lower denominations. For example, If your change is $18.88, You must have One Ten-dollar bill, One Five-dollar bill, Three singles, Three quarters, One dime and three pennies. There should be no nickels; No three Five-dollar bills etc.arrow_forwardPrimitive-type local variables are initialized by default. State whether the statement is true or false. If false, explain why.arrow_forward[Calculate grades’ average for a student] write a program that calculates the student grades’ average for a semester for the number of courses taken in that semester. Your program should do the following: 1.Read from user the number of courses (n) 2. Then, read the courses’ grades for n times (Hint: use a loop) 3.If a grade is grater than 100 or less than 0, ask the user to enter the grade again. 4.Calculate the average of grades using the following formula: average = (sum of grades) / n 5.Print out the average grade on the screen. Note: Always use appropriate data types.arrow_forward
- Challenge Problem (pyhton) T E S T S C O R E S Write a program that implements a test scores program. Valid test score entries are between 0 and 100 inclusive. The program should display a welcome message and run everything through the "main" function. have the ability to enter several test scores (try a loop) and print out the total score, as well as, the average score. continuously ask for test scores until the number 99.9 has been entered. test for valid entries and the value 99.9. If a test score is valid, the program should add the current score to the total score and update the number of test scores by one (+1), otherwise it displays an error message. Note : This assignment involves the use of a while loop and if-else decision making controls. You CANNOT use the reserved keywords break and continue for any portion of this program or any program for that matter throughout this course.arrow_forward(Display the day and remaining hours) Write a program that prompts the user to enter the day number of a week and hours passed, and displays the day and remain- ing hours. For example, if the user entered day number 1 and hours passed 20, the program should display Today is Sunday and Remaining Hours: 4. If the user entered day number 7 and hours passed 2, the program should display Today is Saturday and Remaining Hours 22.arrow_forwardcircles) Write a program that prompts the user to enter the center coordinates and radii of two circles and determines whether the second circle is inside the first or overlaps with the first, as shown in Figure 4.11. (Hint: circle2 is inside circle1 if the distance between the two centers <= | r1 - r2| and circle2 overlaps circle1 if the distance between the two centers <= r1 + r2.arrow_forward
