NC pushbutton switch:

• The abbreviation NC stands for a Normally Closed pushbutton switch.
• It will be initially at closed contact and will be opened when the switch or coil is energized.
• It opens a circuit when it is pressed and return back to its closed condition when it is released.

The conventional hardwired relay circuit should perform the following circuit functions when a NC pushbutton is pressed.

• The pilot light must be switched ON.
• The solenoid must be de-energized.
• Motor running should be started.
• Sound a horn.
