Answer to Problem 1ED
Ethics and quality of the product will come into consideration during these situations through different perspectives of different peoples.
Explanation of Solution
Way ethics and quality enter into these cases:
The ethical issue here is not exactly clear compared to any other case. Customers expect their coffee to be hot. Different customers will prefer different heat levels. It is not possible for the company to prepare coffee at different heats for different customers.
They can maintain a standard heat level while developing the coffee. The heat level will be in the middle range accepted by all the customers. The incident might have also been happened due to the inappropriate handling by the customer. There is also the possibility that the coffee was too hot than the standard industry levels.
The company must recognize the danger of hot coffee. But, a good quality coffee is developed with a very hot water. The quality is usually measured in the eyes of the customer. The manufacturing and product-based quality standards will be conforming to the company.
