To determine:
Silencing the online reviewers is fair or not.
Introduction: The review column or portals are for giving the product reviews. The reviews are sometimes positive and sometimes negative.
Answer to Problem 11CT
Solution: It is not ethical to silence the online reviewer because it totally declines the purpose of reviews. The review is for the customers or consumers to read and know the product more. The companies should not resist the damaging complaints but should try to improve on their services and products.
Explanation of Solution
It is worst for the company’s growth to protect themselves from negative online reviews; instead, they should keep staff for responding to each of those comments. By working on the issues, the company would improve its reputation and gain customer trust. The company is not acting ethically if it is removing the online reviews or suing the authors for negative posts. It would be a good step f or law makers if they void disparagement clauses in small prints.
