The skin is made up of two major tissue layers, the epidermis, and the dermis. The epidermis is the superficial layer present on the skin which protects against the potential damage from abrasion on the skin's surface and the dermis where the epidermis rest is a connective tissue layer responsible for the strength of the skin.
