To determine: The way in which seasonal variation in temperature is related to latitude.
Introduction: The earth receives energy from the Sun at a high rate of
Explanation of Solution
Some regions of the earth’s surface receive more energy from the Sun as compared to others. Seasonal variation is related to the distance from the equator as the farther north or south region may have stronger solar radiation in the winter and the weaker in the summer. The solar radiation is concentrated over a smaller surface area, causing warmer temperatures. At higher latitudes, the angle of solar radiation is smaller, causing energy to be spread over a larger area of the surface and cooler temperatures.

- How is global warming likely to change the climate in your region of the country?arrow_forwardBased on the following information, identify the true statement about the two North American cities, both situated in the western United States. For City A, the coldest average monthly temperature is 7° Celsius in December and the hottest average monthly temperature is 27° Celsius in July. For City B, the coldest average monthly temperature occurs in December at -0.2°, and the warmest average monthly temperature occurs in July at 29.8° Celsius. How might this beetle's use of microclimates created by shrubs, burrows, and bare ground change with the season? question2: A businessman brought rainbow trout fish from North America to Bahrain. He kept them at 25°C in the large aquarium which house the fish. When he arrived the next day he noticed the fish are swimming on their sides or swimming in spirals.
