To trace: The generalized pattern of the early development of the embryo from zygote through early cleavage and formation of the morula and blastula.
Introduction: After fertilization, the fused structure is called the zygote. It is diploid, unlike the gametes and is totipotent in nature. Due to its nature, it can differentiate to form all the different types of cells of the body, performing different functions and constituting different structures. This happens by a series of cleavages and divisions.
