Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Behavioral ecology is the study dealing with study of behavior at organismal level from molecular level to ecosystem level. The evolutionary or ultimate explanations of behavior denote its effectiveness in producing offsprings and their viability in the environment.

Organisms behave differently in various environments and situations. In case a particular behavior is adopted, it becomes the determining factor for that individual’s fitness. Some traits are temporarily adopted, which may give an illusion of one’s fitness. The behavior, which gives longevity to an organism, ultimately determines its fitness.
