Chapter 5, Problem 7TYR
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Collagen is a structural protein present in all connective tissues, and it is one of the abundant protein present in all parts of the body, especially in the bones, skin, muscles, and tendons. It is a fibrous, hard, and insoluble protein that make about one-third of total protein in the body. Due to its fibrous nature, it acts as a supporting structure by providing the strength and elasticity of skin and muscles. The main role of the collagen is to maintain the physical nature of the body tissues and to restore or replace the dead skin cells.
