Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: The freezing point of aqueous solution has to be calculated.

Concept introduction: The freezing point of the solution containing non-volatile solute is lower than that of solvent.  Depression in freezing point is given by,

  $\Delta T_{\text{f}}=n{K}_{\text{f}}b$

Where,

• • $n$ is the number of ions in the solution.
• • $K_{\text{f}}$ is the freezing point constant which is defined for a particular solvent.
• • $b$ is the molality of solution.
