Introduction:

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a type of electromagnetic radiation. Its wavelength ranges approximately from 220 to 300 nm. UV radiation destroys the microbes by damaging their DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). UV rays have poor penetrance capacity. UV rays are used to disinfectant the surfaces and for destroying the microbes in drinking water and air. We cannot use UV rays to kill the microbes in turbid liquids and solid substances.
